This week, we are pleased to share an interview with a service company that works with law firms in the mass tort space. Today we present an interview with Stephanie Smith, Director of Operations of The ClaimBridge, a firm that specializes in mass tort client recovery and engagement.
Thank you for joining us, we think our readers will be interested in your service. Tell us a little about what you do?
With no up-front costs, we help mass tort law firm litigators and passive investors become more profitable by increasing client engagement and reducing overhead. At The ClaimBridge, our engagement and recovery services are rooted in helping people through exceptional service. We engage new clients, and we reconnect with lost leads and lost clients for law firms.
For the law firms who hire us, we can sometimes double their fileable client numbers while significantly reducing their labor overhead, which tremendously amplifies financial returns. We do this by always keeping our focus on the mass tort victims. This is good business– we make sure they are helped so they get fully compensated, which helps everyone.
We successfully engage with more clients, which helps more clients get justice, and turbocharges your law firm’s financial returns. We do this by finding untapped client potential through an exceptional customer service experience.
On a more granular level, we can take care of any and all aspects of the client relationship prior to filing. We complete plaintiff fact sheets, questionnaires, and census forms, we pull and review medical records, we pull military documents, we get affidavits and proof of use/exposure, and we serve as a point of contact for all clients. We are also frequently hired to recover lost leads, plaintiffs who have not completed the intake process.
So, it sounds like you’re taking leads that would otherwise be lost, and turning them into viable cases. How is it that you succeed where the original intake team failed? What’s your secret sauce?
It is simple; at The ClaimBridge, we care more. The founder of our firm is a lawyer, but also a medical doctor. Years ago, when our first litigation co-counsel said, “We are too busy to speak with every client!”, we knew we had a business to build rooted in human engagement.
Our attorneys manage teams of dozens of client relationship specialists, carefully handpicked for each tort. Veterans on the 3M and Camp Lejeune teams, women of color on the hair relaxer teams. Sexual abuse sensitivity training for the Boy Scout team, medical records teams made up of nurses, with doctor back-up. We simply care more.
Our employees connect and empathize with clients on a human level, meanwhile effectively completing the legal requirements that help all parties obtain compensation. We believe that is why our partners ask us to work with them on additional torts once they see our results.
Exceptional service extends beyond client service. We also provide exceptional service to our partners. When we have gone head-to-head with other recovery services and other intake services, we always have successfully engaged with many more clients. We feel very responsible for making sure that all projects are successful. Of course, client and law firm references are available.
You give claimants a higher level of customer service, and they reward you by reengaging. How can a law firm partner with you? How does the process work?
We are a law firm that specializes in client engagements. The ClaimBridge becomes co-counsel for the intake process. There is no separate fee. Here’s an example– maybe you have several hundred Camp Lejeune leads that never made it to the finish line due to clients changing their contact information, having difficulty completing their documents, or hesitancy to continue due to fear or uncertainty of the legal process. We can step in and help.
Regardless of the tort or the numbers, once you have a project in mind, give us a call, and we can create a solution-focused action plan that addresses your firm’s needs. We put together a joint venture agreement which outlines our respective responsibilities, and we then schedule a kick-off call to discuss project logistics. Then, it is off to the races! Each week you receive a progress report, as well as all the data collected. Most projects last 8-12 weeks, depending upon size and scope.
By utilizing our team of highly skilled paralegals and legal assistants, our law firm partners also save on the backend due to the reduction of labor costs, time, and other in-house expenses associated with client engagement. You sit back, and watch the results come in without expending time, labor, or money.
How does a law firm know if they need your services?
Whether you are a passive investor or a litigator in the mass tort space, we encourage you to ask yourself a question, “Of the signed retainers I’ve paid for, what percent of these have gone on to filing?” Be honest with yourself, most firms can’t or won’t answer this question because it shows a large gap that currently exists in the mass tort industry. We fill this gap for you. If the answer is not 90% or more, you should not be satisfied, and maybe there is room for us to do business together to help your clients and grow your revenues. Give us a call!
The ClaimBridge performs two similar services. For fresh cases/retainers, we can subcontract the whole case development process, from client initial engagement, plaintiff fact sheet completion, and medical record retrieval and review. You will know where every client is in the process, at all times. This is the most affordable solution, where the smart money gravitates, with no up-front, out-of-pocket costs. Our fee is frequently shared between the passive investor and the litigating firm.
For old cases that didn’t initially make it to filing, we can also subcontract the whole intake process, but instead of fresh engagement, we provide re-engagement services. For stale, or lost cases, where the clients fail to communicate after weeks or months (or years!), we can frequently reengage with more than 50% of lost clients. Again, this option is very affordable, with no out-of-pocket costs, providing a measurable boost to law firm revenue.
Long story short, if you have at least one case that didn’t make it to filing, we can help you, no obligation, no risk.
What torts do you work with?
We cut our teeth with the 3M earplug litigation. We recovered over 5,000 3M clients for some of the biggest firms in the industry, and we gave the same level of service to some of the smallest firms in the industry as well. No project is too big or too small. Our recovery rate averaged over 30% across all firms. We have references upon request that include multiple leadership and private equity firms, as well as single attorney shops.
We have been involved in Zantac, 3M, Paraquat, AFFF, PFAS, Roundup, Talc, Hair Relaxer, Boy Scouts, Camp Lejeune, Tylenol, Truvada, Taxotere, and Hernia Mesh, to name a few. We have helped passive investors, active litigators, marketers, financial firms—anyone with an interest in helping people and turbocharging their bottom line at the same time.
